I’m Lucy (she/her)

I'm a graphic designer, illustrator and fine artist based in Edinburgh, Scotland. 

 

I mostly work digitally when it comes to my graphic design and illustration practice – using the Adobe and Affinity suites, as well as Procreate.

 

As far as fine art goes, my mediums of choice are oil paint and acrylic gouache. I mostly paint portraiture and often get inspired by nature, creating studies of plants, flowers, animals or insects, as well as still-life compositions of everyday objects.

 

My range of inspiration and influences is very wide – the old masters and eras like the renaissance, baroque, rococo, and impressionism; 1200-1900 architecture, vintage visual and object designs, video game concept art, the dark or bizarre, the futuristic and cyberpunk.

 

My work is intricate, skilfully crafted, full of attention to detail and, as proven by my portfolio, I’m versatile not only when it comes to the subject matter and outcome forms, but styles as well. I’m not one to constrain myself to one visual language. I like simplicity and elegance, the minimal, delicate and muted, as well as the bold, loud and neon.
